How does the Fastbind system work and why is there no waste? The book body to be bound is placed in the clamp, which has stoppers to ensure its correct placement and firm hold. The clamp closes exactly along the thickness of the book body (it happens automatically), securely fixing it. The book body is turned with the spine of the book facing up. Fastbind's patented paper fiber opening system (Paper Grain Opening) destroys the paper surface and exposes the paper fiber to increase the surface area that is covered with glue. The glue penetrates from above and is pressed into the spine of the book body, directly into the paper fiber and between the swollen sheets, ensuring good and reliable gluing of the pages. The book body is turned with the spine facing down, back to its original position. The cover is positioned and pressed firmly against the book body simultaneously on three sides to glue and surround the body so that it becomes a book. A book - whether hard or soft cover.
